Jiffy Lube is a multi-national automotive service company who specializes in fast and convenient vehicle maintenance. With hundreds of locations across Canada and the United States, Jiffy Lube can be easily found in almost any community you travel to.
Expanding their Edmonton Alberta capacity, Jiffy Lube required a new facility in Sunwapta which is conveniently located on Stoney Plain Road and 186 Street allowing for great visibility and easy access. Due to the age and being the last remaining site within the development, the project came with some technical challenges, one being limited construction space. Knowing this, the owner decided to design the project using a prefabricated system called precast concrete, which allowed the building to be manufactured off site and delivered in segments. This greatly reduced the congestion and allowed for an expedited building schedule helping the franchisee move in sooner than if build with conventional systems.
Knowing that Hawi Construction has extensive experience designing and building with precast concrete, Hawi was asked to manage the building structure and oversee the technical details ensuring for a smooth build process.
